Trail Update 12/21/2025
AWhat a long cold day today for the three man crew that started out by going up to Brookston area this morning. I received a call yesterday regarding some off trail riding in a farm field, and I asked the landowner if I could try and remedy the situation before the trail got closed. We put in many fence posts and used what round baler twine I had left in my New Holland. We put up signs and reflectors for safety and hopefully this solves the problem.
As an added effort I contacted the local Conservation Officer and informed him of the problem. I asked him to please write tickets instead of warnings if he observes off trail riding. He said he would be more than happy to, as he will monitor said property, thank you for that officer.
More trail signs around Cromwell and then off to sign our reroute in the city of Wright. Previously this fall we were contacted by the Wright Senior Center about moving the trail away from the Center. Our Vice President Jake attended the last Wright City meeting, and proposed a new route which was greatly appreciated and approved. The new route will continue East past the bar, North on Fifth Street, East on Pacific and North on county road 23 across the railroad road tracks. Please also refer to the picture of the new route as well. We also provided the City additional signs to install wherever they deem necessary to help prevent unwanted snowmobile traffic.
Safety is our utmost concern regarding trail routes and trail maintenance and grooming. Because of this our club is going to be buying some new equipment to help maintain and pack our trails preseason. Thank you very much to the Kettle River Snowmobile Club and the donation we received today to help buy the equipment. Please watch for updates as the season progresses for added equipment.
Stay On The Trails. If you abuse it we will lose it. Our trails would not exist without the gracious support from land owners willing to give us access on their land. Stay on the trails and absolutely Do Not Trespass. Where you go will leave a trail so keep it on the trail.
